This blog is for homework and instructions.
I would sometimes display work done by students in jpeg or slide. Please note that all work displayed is in the raw state, used to inspire or as springboards to class discussions. Please exercise care when commenting on this blog as it is a working blog for students.

To students

Please visit this blog two days before your lesson. I would post homework and instructions on Tuesday, after 8.00 pm. All homework completed to my satisfaction and brought on the day of the lesson will be given the homework star, which may give you an advantage. However, tardy homework will get not get the homework star at all.

This site is for Sec 1E3. However students from other classes are welcome to visit and follow this blog for updates and clarification of homework, assignments, weekly lessons and projects for 2010.

Homework for 18 January 2010

HOMEWORK for Monday, 18 Jan 2010

Answer this question in your notebook as you read your text:

What is the most dangerous thing about witches and why?

As I just saw you this Monday, on the 11th, I am NOT giving any other homework for your class except this one. If you have yet to complete it, I have the following suggestions that may help you.

USE the PEEL format when writing.

P - Make a Point

For example:

Witches are always dangerous but the most dangerous thing about witches is that they look like an ordinary human female.
(This is from the book but you have decided to CHOOSE this one as YOUR point)

E- Elaboration or the reason for your Point.

This is because if no child can spot a witch from an ordinary woman, he or she may not be able to protect herself or himself. (This is YOUR reason)

E - Example to support your Point.

For example, the boy's grandmother told him about a girl called Brigit Svenson, who started growing feathers all over her body. She turned into a chicken within a month. The grandmother also said that these strange things happened when each child spoke with a tall lady in white gloves. (This eg is from your textbook)

L - Link your example to your Point

Therefore that is why I said not being able to spot a real witch is dangerous as there are many women who are tall and have white gloves. If we can spot a witch easily, this incident may not happen.

The homework is easy right? Try one for yousrelf and I would see you on Monday to help you out. :)

PS:
BTW: I am verrrey glad that I alrreeady have a follover to this blog. This is a good vitch and deserrve many good things. I vill NOT be frying her in my class.
